Online Sessions

While we are unable to meet face to face because of Covid-19, we will be offering sessions online using Zoom. These are open access sessions, no pre-booking required. We are also offering Virtual Session playalong videos.

In the tunes sessions (Monday &Thursday 8pm-9.30pm), you'll hear the tune leaders playing live fiddle & guitar so that you can play along at home. Everyone joining in will be muted during the tunes (this is how Zoom works). This means you won't hear each other, and we won't hear you...but we'll still all be playing music together, and your microphone can be un-muted in between tunes!

In the singaround (Tuesday 7.30pm-9.30pm), you can perform a song (or tune) to the rest of the group, just as you would in a regular folk club.

These are the links through which you can join the sessions.

We've put some sheet music together in one document to make it easier to join in with the Session Tunes groups. You can download a copy here (Updated 26/5/20)

There's no need to book a place and the sessions are free. Small contributions towards our running costs are much appreciated and can be made using PayPal on www.paypal.me/phoenixfolk...but most importantly, we hope you come and join us!

This link will show you how to adjust your settings to get best results using Zoom.

Here are some examples of what you will be playing along to (although the Monday night session will be at a steadier pace).

Some of our regular participants wanted to hear what we would sound like if we were in the same room, so we made a video.
